President’s Trophy 2018
Published on 13th February 2018 in UncategorizedDear Members,
As you will all be well aware the President’s Trophy Round 1 will start this weekend and wish the best of luck to all of those players that qualified!
Some general housekeeping in regards to this trophy event as we must inform everyone prior to the competition starting:
FORMAT IS HANDICAP MATCH PLAY
As per Golf Australia Website – Match Play
This traditional form of the game sees two individuals or two sides competing against each other with the number of holes won or lost deciding the match. The match is completed when one side is ahead after the stipulated number of holes or is more holes up than the number of holes remaining to be played.
The number of strokes awarded in this competition is the difference between the players’ handicaps. Where there are more than 18 strokes difference between players’ handicaps, the higher handicapped players will receive 2 or 3 strokes per hole where applicable. It is usual for the Committee to prescribe sudden-death continuation if a match is all square after the required holes. In this case handicap strokes are used as in the original round.
In the event of a tie after 18 holes
Play will continue in a sudden death format down holes 10 and 18 until a winner is decided
Match Completion – Game’s outside of Saturday competition
In ANY round of your match (excluding the final) should you not be able to compete on the given Saturday you may request your opponent meet you to play at any time
prior to the next scheduled round. It is not compulsory for the opponent that is scheduled against you to do so and if no other time can be achieved the player that is not able to make his/her dedicated tee time on the given day will forfeit the match. Match’s MUST be played from the BLUE markers so please note if you should be playing on a weekday you will not be eligible for the daily competition.
Completion Of Round
You will all see the the printout of the President’s Trophy on the bench near the comp fee box. At the completion of your match please write your result in the designated
section next to your name on the line provided.
We certainly hope everyone is excited for this event as last year it was a thrilling finish with Charlie Grech playing through some serious pain to take out the trophy!
