YGC Club Championships

Published on 10th December 2025 in Uncategorized

After what seemed to be an eternity and by far the longest Club Championship contest in Yarrambat GC history – enduring 2 cancelled rounds, nearly 230mm of rain and even final round lightning delays – the deserving winners have emerged.  As always there are tales of remarkable comebacks, score saving scrambling, bad holes, epic collapses and missed opportunities but across the 4 rounds, consistency and perseverance are always the key.

Congratulations to our deserving winners, and commiserations to those who challenged them to the end. Each winner had a remarkable round, and a round they’d rather not remember:

Aaron set himself up with a great first round, and faded over the last 3 holes when victory was assured.

Lucas bolted out of the gates over the first 2 rounds before giving everything back in the 3rd round, then regathering himself and driving to the finish line in the last.

Tesi stormed home with a -5 final round to blow the field away.

Sammy had a great first two rounds and stayed solid in the last, avoiding the dreaded snowman that can often cruel a C Grader’s chances.

Congrats to Sarsha Norton, at only 13 she challenged the leaders in A Grade and, after a disastrous 3rd round, fought back with a final round even par to finish in the top 5. She is certainly one to watch over the next few years!
