16th hole – Drop zone

Out of bounds

The right hand course boundary has been re-marked, and OOB stakes positioned to continue the boundary where the fence has collapsed.

A Drop Zone is now in play for balls that have crossed outside the boundary of the course, to eliminate the requirement to return to the tee – only where it is known, or virtually certain, that the ball is lost out of bounds.

Penalty stroke (playing 3)

The green side of the right hand penalty area “Snake Gully” has been correctly marked with yellow stakes.

If relief is taken for any ball, in any of the 3 penalty areas on 16, relief must be taken on the tee side of the penalty area – using ‘back on a line’. Keeping the spot the ball last crossed the margin (or best estimate) between you and the pin, regardless which side the ball crossed, as far back as you wish. You must drop the ball on that line, and not a club length either side of the line. Once dropped the ball may roll a club length in any direction, even forward and remain ‘in play’.

Even if it rolls off the green into the penalty area, or bounces off a tree or path into a penalty area, relief must be taken on the tee side of the penalty area.
