16th LHS Bunker in play – RH Approach on 2nd is a No Play Zone

Published on 12th August 2025 in Uncategorized
  1. The 16th LHS bunker is back in play!
  2. The right hand approach to the 2nd green has also been marked as  No Play Zone – it has serious drainage issues and is becoming very boggy.

Member’s must not play from this marked area and instead take relief at the drop zone as below.

Players finding themselves in this NPZ MUST take a drop within one club length of the blue YGC drop zone stake, no nearer the hole,

  • on the RH hill, short of the bunker on the 2nd.

as it applies in each case. [**Not the ladies’ club drop zone]

This area is marked to prevent injury and excessive and unnecessary damage to the course.

Please remember when taking relief elsewhere under a rule, it is the ‘nearest’ point of complete relief, not “best spot,, easiest spot, or the preferred lie to get up and down with a clear shot at the pin”

This applies until further notice, but check regularly for updates as it may change at short notice.

Discussions are underway to identify an appropriate treatment to address these ongoing issues.ej
