The first 3 rounds of the 2023 Club and Grade championships been played in pretty good conditions, nice warm days, with only a little breeze coming in to play, but this Saturday will test the mettle of all our players. Blustery hot winds are predicted – and that is just the pre-game banter!

There is the slight chance of some rain and thunder, it may be hot and humid – so be aware play “may” be suspended if lightning is nearby, but only if absolutely necessary – and if called by the Match Committee or Course management.

A YGC course marshal will be present on course to ensure prompt pace of play and assess any issues arising.

After 3 rounds Aaron Saykan has a firm grip on the Club Championship, and it would take a Tonya Harding effort to prevent him taking the honours.

The A Grade championship is a closer affair, with only 9 shots separating the top 8 or 9 players. As we know, everyone is only a water ball and a chunked chip away from disaster! Can ‘The Bear’ hold out Jack, with big bombers Wayne and Arron sniffing at the heels, or will the trophy slip form the grasp and a dark horse emerge from the pack?

B Grade is a tight and torrid affair, with young gun CK putting first hands on the Cup, with old stager Shayne looking to show them how it’s done! The Mullin and ‘Noons’ aren’t far off the pace, and Andy Glembin could still find his first-round form after a complete melt down (Norman-esque choke) last week!

There is much to like about this race!

B Grade Championship leaders

Can Mark Bazzoni go back-to-back? Can Sone remember what he did in the first round? Both players hold a solid leader over the chasing pack, but that lead can quickly evaporate. Will Rowlesy or Paul Ireland step up? Coey, Charlie and Jenny are the outsiders looking in, and all three are ready to pounce.

C grade is the grade to watch for the drama to unfold!
