Golf is still on the agenda!

All,

After the Premier’s dire announcements this afternoon, and a return to Stage 3 restrictions for 6 weeks, there is – for the moment – a shining light.

Golf is still a valid form of exercise for which you may leave the house. Whilst trips to holiday homes, the snow or the Murray are out, as are trips to the Penisula or Coastal golf courses, Yarrambat Park Golf Course is still open to members.

Collectively we must cherish this opportunity and return to the cautious days of the early  re-opening.  We have, all of us, become a little complacent in recent weeks, and if we want to stay ahead of the curve we must continue to be vigilant.

  • No fist or elbow bumps
  • No handshakes
  • No sharing equipment
  • No touching each others balls
  • No touching the flag
  • No loitering in large groups near the entrances, paths or walkways before or after the round
  • Wash your hands
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow
  • If feeling sick, stay home!
  • And, don’t pay comp fees with coins, and get yourselves some envelopes!

Sadly, those members in the lockdown suburbs are still prohibited from attending the course.

To roll out a very tired cliche (without the celebrity  mansion)  “We are all in this together”; YGC, Belgravia staff, Landscape Solutions staff, YPLGC and the golfing public.

Let’s regain our focus and reinvigorate our vigilance, and we can all do our best to come out the other side.

Take care, stay safe, look out for each other and don’t be the one to jeopardise the golf course by doing anything silly!
