Round 2 saw the team venture out to Yering Meadows on a sunny but windy day to take on Goonawarra (demoted from Div 5 last season).

In what was always going to be a tough encounter, but the sort of match we need to win to move up, the guys battled hard all day. 

Dale battled valiantly keeping his nose one in front to the 15th, before dropping 16 and going down 2&1

Daniel was 3 down early, but fought back to stay in it, before eventually succumbing 2&1

Jas was 1up for most of the day, but briefly dropped back to square – digging deep to win on the 18th 

Darren was also square on 16 before going down 2&1 to Goonawarra Club Pro Tony Page – (whisper is there is a great mud photo somewhere as Darren refused to give up, playing from the water on 18 and nearly getting it done!)

Alex came down to earth with a thud after last week’s great win, but will bounce back this week.

Peter Naismith showed once again  that “the Beard should be feared” turning in another great  win 3&1, and 

Aaron was solid (if at times wayward) all day taking down Goonawarra’s #1 on the 18th hole.

 

Great work again from both Club members and the non-playing team members who selflessly caddied, managed and updated.

And once again Bill Hassett was there to cheer on the lads! Thanks Bill.

 

This week we take on Melbourne Airport at Mandalay – so scoot down the road and cheer on the boys – and those that live near the course should pop out and heckle the Airport crew!
