New Local Rules for Scoring/Bunkers/Flags (Corona Virus) & the suspension of NTPs

Published on 22nd March 2020 in Uncategorized

All members,

In response to the Novel Corona virus (COVID-19) crisis, the YGC Committee agreed late on Friday night to adopt some of the recommendations of the R&A regarding local rules to reduce the risk of transmission regarding. These local rules are effective Sunday until withdrawn, and may be modified further if the situation demands.

This serious situation continues to evolve and other measures are being considered.

We appreciate that playing golf in the open air is at present low-risk, provided we take appropriate precautions, such as

  • Social distancing (1.5 metres) – this is not to be taken as funny or amusing – it should be applied on tees, greens and during and after the round. (remember the mandatory limits on numbers of people inside the cafe or member’s lounge)
  • No shaking hands or bumping elbows – just because those who play football for a living do it, do not think this is safe
  • Use your own pen/pencil for cards, envelopes, put your $5 in an envelope at home and bring it in
  • One person at the Computer/ Card Scanner at a time please
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Wash your hands often, especially after your round.
  • Cafe and inside seating is closed from midday Monday 23 March
  • Committee members should be gloved when counting cash or checking cards etc, and wash hands immediately afterwards.
