Hole in One!
Published on 11th March 2020 in UncategorizedOn a cool and breezy March long-weekend Saturday morning, Mark Bernhardt and his crew headed to the 16th hole.
Fortunes were mixed so far that day, Lesley O’Connell was playing solid golf and sitting 4 over the card (on h/cap), Peter Williams was coming off a great par on the 15th, Jennifer was having an absolute shocker, and Mark was having a good day sitting just 9 over the card (4 of which came with an 8 on the infamous 6th hole!) and only 2 over on the back.
Feeling the inconsistent WSW breeze, Mark opted for safety and chose a 5 wood; looking to carry the water and finish in the fat part of the green, back left. He struck it well, but it was heading toward the left trap and a bit of luck was needed.
It continued to drift toward the left hand side of path and was looking like it was too much club and would finish up way off the back.
As the ball dropped it came down along inside the path, hit the edge and took off at right angles.
The ball landed on the green in line with the flag and just kept rolling and rolling until it just dropped into the cup. A HOLE-IN-ONE!
Amazing! Congratulations Mark!
