In brilliant conditions, a cracking round of 1/4 final matches saw a couple of ding dong battles in two matches with Bruce Tudhope playing tenacious golf to take Dale Sudborough to the 17th hole (Dale 2&1), and Alan Blaqueire playing great golf and fighting hard to take  Mark Wilson all the way to the 18th (Wilso 1up).

Ange Temouskos continued on her charge to the Semis taking out Rod Mountney with a flawless display of solid golf, with Ange dormie at 13 before winning 4&2. The final match unfortunately saw Gilbert Lamoureux withdraw due to injury, sending Paul Bianacotto through to the semis. (Paul is seriously lacking ‘match play fitness’ and will be challenged in the next round!)

Congratulations to all players on some special golf being played!

The semi-finals take place this Saturday and should be pretty special –  and I’m certainly not prepared to predict any outcomes!!

The draw for the President’s Cup match results are listed below

Key Information: 

• Daily handicaps will apply (including on any extra holes required)
• This is a GROSS score event – hole par is irrelevant – it is the lowest number of strokes per hole that count
  • (so if you have a 5 and they have a 6, but get a stroke on the hole, it is halved – it doesn’t matter if its a par 3, 4 or 5.
  • Everyone is ‘off the stick’ unless a stroke is conceded on the Match Play Index – eg: the 18th for all players is par 0 – count the strokes from tee to hole and the lowest score is the winner on the hole )
• Scorecards will be be pre-prepared with handicap differential listed. (YPGC standard match play index to be used)
• Completed scorecards with clear result and both signatures must be submitted after the match or both players will be disqualified
• Matches must be played at the time specified – no other arrangements are permitted
• Format – handicapped (stroke) match play off the Blue / Permanent Red tees
• If tied after 18 holes – the play off holes are 10 & 18 repeated until a result is obtained.
• Do not register on the Club Competition Computer and do not put $5 in the box (unless you’re making a donation!)
