Golf Carts & Greens

Published on 1st February 2020 in Uncategorized

Members,

As you are all aware, the new ground staff have been doing some great work addressing the issues of the course, including the legacy of the 30 year old irrigation.

To date, they have replaced many pipes, pumps and sprinkler heads and the Course is now in great condition.

With this in mind, given that many of the new sprinklers and pipes are on the edges and fringes of the greens and tees, and that we are all doing our best to help maintain the course and prevent damage or compressed/ compacted fringes – the amnesty or ‘warning’ period is over.

LOCAL RULE 12 (as found on the rear of the scorecard) will be vigorously enforced from Wednesday 5 February.

If you are seen by a committee member, or reported by any group, with a motorised ride-on golf cart;

  • within 10 meters of any green (stay well outside the humps around the green and you should be ok)
  • ‘driving on, over or between any tee boxes
  • past or to the left of the bunker on the 8th hole
  • past the penalty areas on the 16th hole –  you can drive up to the gap, but not past or through it)
  • anywhere to the green side of the path of the 16th hole (regardless of why or how you got there – just stay on the path once over the bridge.

General Penalty (2 strokes) will be applied

Reports must be made to any member of the Committee prior to closure of the competition.

Lets work together to improve the Course, and reduce the wear and tear around the greens and tees.
