Apparently, it was rumoured during last Saturday’s comp that Minh Hou got an ace on the 5^th.

Congratulations had been widely expressed by fellow members  – but,unfortunately, Minh did not have a hole-in-one and was at a loss to explain how that rumour had started.

 

On New Year’s Day the first group in the field, Minh, Alex Fabiani, Dave Weston and Graham Bell – were chatting about the rumour as they left the 4^th green and walked to the 5^th tee.

Alex hit first and rolled the ball past the pin to approx 2.5 mtrs – first NTP of the day in the bag! 

Dave hit next and it was looking good until his ball rolled just off back edge,

Graham blocked his shot and went wide right and Minh stepped up, 4 iron in hand.

Graham said “pass the NTP marker to Alex” as Minh was taking his practice swings.

Minh hit, smooth, with a nice arc and the ball landed soflty between the two mounds front right and began to roll.

“Hang on Graham”, Dave said, “Minh might get inside Alex here.”

The ball keeps going towards hole, rolling, rolling, hits the pin and drops in. A HOLE-IN-ONE!! ⛳

We all looked at Minh who said, “Did it go in?”

You betcha!!

Arms raised, high fives!! Whooping and hollering.

This time he did get a hole in one – and  want to see whoever started that rumour so I can get nest weeks Tatts numbers!

 

Trivia note: Minh’s wife has aced the same hole previously and bragging rights are now shared.
