Members,

YGC Presentation Day

Saturday 21st December 2019

The Yarrambat Golf Club’s annual presentation day will be held on Saturday the 21st December.

The format for the day will be 2 Ball (unseeded) Ambrose with 7:15AM arrival for an 8:00AM shotgun start,  and you can play either with your usual group of friends or mix it up and get to know someone new.

The Club will be covering the green fees of any member who would ordinarily be required to pay to play on a Saturday.

Lunch will follow the end of the round and the Club’s Champions and winners from throughout the year will be presented their awards –

(and those who were present last year can attest that the presentations move very snappily!)

We hope to see as many members play on the presentation day as possible as this is the day when we all come together, as a Club, to celebrate the achievements of our members.

For those members who are unable to play or attend the Club presentation day on Saturday 21st, there will be an ambrose event held on Wednesday 18th December. This will also be an 8:00AM shotgun start, unseeded 2 person ambrose (stroke) – again, play with your friends or mix it up and meet someone new.

A shotgun start has been arranged to enable members to mingle and catch up with each other after the round, rather than finishing at different times, and this also provides the opportunity to explore the (hopefully completed) new Member’s Lounge.

Following play on Wednesday 18th, the Club has arranged for a (subsidised) special lunch menu:

Two $6 Lunch Specials will be available for purchase on the day

  • Lasagne, chips & salad
  • Flathead tails, chips & salad

The usual Bunker’s Cafe & Bistro Lunch menu items will also be available and drinks will be at happy hour prices.

How to Play Ambrose

2 Ball (unseeded) Ambrose

  • Groups of two players will work as a team.
  • Each player hits their drive off the tee, the best shot is selected and the position marked.
  • The other player’s ball is picked up and placed, within one ball width, of the position of chosen ball – no nearer the hole.
  • Each player then hits their second shot from that  spot.
  • The best shot is again selected. This continues until the ball is in the hole.
  • On the putting green the best ball is marked and the other ball played from this position.
  • One (stroke) score is  recorded on each hole.
  • During the course of the round all player’s drives must be selected a minimum of 6 times.
  • Players handicaps are added and divided by 4 to find the handicap for the day.

We look forward to see you out on the course.

Happy golfing,

YGC Committee
