Club & Grade Championship update – final round this weekend.

Round 3 of the YGC Club Championships is done and dusted, and things have tightened up in the race for the (gross) Club  Championship honours.

Dale Sudborough had a couple of loose shots and Darren Kershaw pounced to close the gap to one stroke. Club Captain Rob Paravizzini sits in 3rd, and Jas’s hopes were dashed in a 3 hole double-bogey stretch on the back 9.

The A Grade (nett) is also tight, and you could throw a handful of sand over the top 8 players, with Dale narrowly leading young gun Aaron Saykan with Rob Paravizzini, (experiencing a purple patch to sit) equal second, 2 shots off the pace

John Ward holds the B Grade lead on countback, from Richard Canty and David Weston and one errant bunker shot or water ball could see multiple position changes.

While Peter Lowrey leads C Grade, narrowly holding off Paul Bennett and Jacqui Lamoureux; and you can never discount the possibility of previous winner Trev “Hubert” Wiseman pulling out a blinder to swoop in take back the title

This weekend looms large for our challengers; the chance to take home the title does not present itself that often, and the weather looks challenging. Good luck to all players, we hope you play your best golf and all have great rounds to see a tight finish.
