Congratulations Ron!

Early Sunday morning on a surprisingly wet and windy day (once again Jane Bunn got it wrong – where was the sunny 21 degree day?) Ronnie Dingle and Anthony Grassa set off in average conditions.

After a solid front 9, with a double on 5 and a birdie on 8, Ronnie Dingle had a good round going turning in 1 over par, 37. The back 9 was looking a bit scratchy; bogey 10, birdie 11, par 12, bogey 13 and 14 before getting back on track with a solid par on 15.

Ron walked onto the 16th tee 3 over par, but one behind his playing partner Anthony Grassa – he really needed to pull something out of the bag.

Ron picked up his scope, 180 m to the pin, 165 m to carry the water – wind behind, but a bit blustery and inconsistent.

He took out an 8 iron, settled over the ball and struck it flush – it was on the pin the hole way.

Pitched 10 on, 5 metres short of the flag, bounced twice, checked and then released – rolling straight into the middle of the cup!

You bloody beauty! A hole-in-one!

He lost a bit of composure coming home to finish bogey, bogey for a 75 off the stick – but, wow, you ripper – nothing lucky about that shot. Pure class!

Well done Ron!
