Congratulations to Trev Wiseman!

On a perfect Saturday for golf – the rains of the last week had finally abated and players were met with sunny, cloudless skies with hardly a breath of wind.

These challenging conditions found Trevor Wiseman struggling to find his rhythm on the front 9.

After a scratchy start, he was starting to find his groove before losing focus and doubling the 5th. Trev bounced right back with a solid 3 point par on the 6th and strode to the 7th hole feeling good.

Crowey tells me that Trev “ripped his drive 6m straight down the middle” (no, not a typo – 6m), but apparently the soft fairways were robbing Trev of his usual length.

After finishing with a disappointing double bogey on the 7th, Trev headed for the 8th looking for some inspiration to bring the front 9 home strong.

Trev stood on the 8th tee and weighed his options. (Truth be told, he was probably thinking Driver, but the slight tail wind suggested maybe less club was required.)

Settling on a 7 iron, Trev teed up – full of hope.

He took his stance, had a couple of practice swings – apparently he was planning for “a gentle high baby draw starting at the lowest gum leaf on the 2nd tree over the bunker” (that’s how it was described – I can’t make this stuff up).

Trev struck his Callaway E.R.C Soft crisply and, from all accounts, a baby draw at the gum over the bunker resulted.

The ball landed top edge of the green, bounced twice, took the berm and curved straight into the hole.

A HOLE-IN-ONE!!

“THAT’S IN!” cried Crowey excitedly.

“Pick me up Crowey, I can’t see!” yelled Trev.

Congratulations Kelloggs! A rare achievement and one we all dream about.

And fair warning to all .. be prepared to hear about this feat for (at least) the next 12 months – and God help anyone going to Tocumwal!
