Members,

In response to recent concerns from a number of members in relation to the Monthly Medal round Grade prize allocations, particularly where there are small fields, there were also questions raised regarding the relative difficulty of o beating a field of 60 vs a field of 100.

The Committee has responded to those concerns and will be trialling a new formula for prize calculations for the next 3 months, commencing Wednesday 3 October 2018.

Firstly, the amount available to be won will be increased from 85% of competition entry fees to 95%.

Secondly, Medal and grade prize allocations will be based upon a percentage, the more players in the field, the higher the payout. 

The calculation will be based upon:

• Medal winner – 30% of the available prize pool (after allowing for NTPs, Ball rundown & Eagle’s Nest)
• Remaining 2 Grade winners –  20% of the prize pool (each)
• Runners up in all 3 grades – 10% of the prize pool (each)

Ball run down will remain the same .
