Good Morning Members, 

Yesterday we hosted the Mens VGA Pennant Round 2 at home and unfortunately for the first time in my memory we lost at home to Whittlesea.  

Hats off to the team from Whittlesea as they brought their A Game and played extremely well yesterday and our boys fought and fought however could only manage 2 wins from Jasleen Kooner and the super consistent pennant player Peter Naismith. This result has shocked the team however as we have all said to each other the year is not over yet and we will come out bigger and stronger this week! 

I would sincerely like to thank the following members for their support yesterday: 

Joe Caruana – Joe came out and brushed the duck droppings off every green before the round yesterday and we can not thank him enough. This type of behaviour exemplifies the type of culture we are trying to build at YGC and we can not thank him enough. 

Stuart Thompson & Rob Para for being the announcers on the tee boxes (and then Rob caddying and Stuart course marshalling) 

To the caddies, Ian Witham, Frank Sudborough, Daniel Saykan, Rob Para, Jason Mullin and Thabo much appreciated (apologies if I have forgotten someone here) 

To the staff of Belgravia wonderful job once again in what was challenging circumstances with our course maintenance company and lastly to the man that works harder at our club than any other Jason Gianginis. Jason your efforts are incredible and your love for the club and the game is admirable. Thank you for all your work so far. 

Next week we head to Whittlesea for their home game so once again any support would be greatly appreciated.
