Our two seniors teams played their first games of the season on an impeccable Heidelberg course.

The Blacks, Playing Rosanna Green, achieved 4 wins (Jack Leonello, Shayne Cairns, Allan Searl and Sarath Silva) and a draw (Greg Hayes).

The Reds came up against the home side (and last year’s runners up) Heidelberg Gold and achieved a fighting one win (Frank Sudborough) and two draws (Chris Petrovski and Sam Sayken), with both Mal Heighton and David Morley losing by the narrowest of margins. The Reds have now had their match against a home team and will, I’m sure find it easier going from here on.

The two Heidelberg teams lead the field with 12 points each, followed by Yarrambat Blacks and Box Hill, both on 9 points.

Next Week’s round is at Rosanna, where the Blacks will play the home side and the Reds will be up against last year’s winners, Heidelberg Gold (trust me fellas, it does get easier after that!)
