Presidents Update – John Ward Joins Committee & Failure to Submit Scorecard
Published on 13th September 2017 in UncategorizedGood Morning Members,
I am pleased to report that John Ward has been offered and has accepted a place on the Committee. John brings a wealth of experience and I’m sure will make a valuable contribution to the running of the Club.
Failure to Submit Scorecards
Feedback from members at the recent AGM was the concern that there were a number of members who enter competitions, but fail to submit their card at the end of the round.
We are sure that some members are not aware that failure to submit a scorecard is a problem. So please be aware that, unless there are compelling reasons that a member cannot submit their card, all cards must be submitted at the end of the round.
Even if you have disqualified yourself, mark your card as ‘DQ’ and leave it in the pile of scorecards for the day.
Failure to submit a scorecard is a breach of our Code of Conduct and if it is done regularly, then (hopefully unintentionally), this is a manipulation of your handicap.
It may also cause a problem for the member whose card you are marking, if there is a query raised on his card and your card is not available to check.
Best of luck to everyone for the remaining two rounds of the club championships!
Regards,
Gavin Pearce
Club President
