Dear Members,
The committee have had some concern from members and Belgravia Management in regards to the timeslots being left empty or members failing to attend their tee times. Please find an outline below on this issue.
As an update on the Pace of Play we have seen some improvement with the course marshalling and the new local rule however we do understand that there are some 5+ hour rounds happening towards the end of the field and are hoping that the below may assist. I would also like to say WELL DONE to the reported 4 groups on Saturday that fell behind and let the group behind them through!! This is at the core of getting this issue under control and I thank you all that did this.
We have also had a great suggestion from one of our members in regards to searching for a lost ball to keep our groups moving as fast as possible. If we could all please take note and action the below when required:
As per rule 27-1 A player has up to 5 mins to find a lost ball. When playing in your group “THE LOWEST HANDICAPPER” in your group is responsible to check his watch, advise the player concerned that he has 5 minutes from then and make sure that that is strictly adhered too.
Competition bookings:
As we work together with Belgravia Management to facilitate the running of our competitions, it is vital that we continue to fulfil our committment to our group block bookings.
Recently there have been a number of whole timeslots left empty, groups of two and three, and members failing to attend their tee times; often leaving their fellow club members without a partner and unable to play in the competition.
Yarrambat Golf Club is an important partner for Belgravia, but it must be remembered that they are a commercial enterprise and need to maximise opportunities to remain viable and to have the income needed to maintain the course to the standard we would all appreciate.
With this in mind the committee has authorised Belgravia to consolidate bookings to groups of 4 where possible. This will also benefit pace of play, as there will not be groups of 2 or 3 waiting on, or ‘pressuring’, a 4 ball.
Where possible please arrange your own 4 ball group before the day but be aware that if groups on a Monday or Sunday remain unfilled on the Thursday prior – those times will be opened for both the public and Belgravia members to utilise.
**Please check your booking times as they may be subject to minor changes.**
If you wish to play later in the day on Monday or Sundays, and also enter the competition – book your group through Quick18 and then request the ProShop staff
convert that booking timeslot to a competition booking. This will enable the printing of your card with your actual tee time listed.
As the weather improves more people will be looking for an early round, so let’s work together to enable every golfer to enjoy a game.
